Student Spotlight
We are very proud of our students, and with good reason! Here we will feature some of our current and former students, their accomplishments, personal successes, audition stories and goals for the future. We hope their examples will encourage anyone who is on the fence about taking the next step to reaching your goals and realizing your dreams.
José Reyes will be entering the 8th grade in the 2024-25 school year, and during his summer break, he is taking on the role of Davey in NEWSIES, JR. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Orlando, Florida.
José has been studying voice with Lori Moran since October of 2022, and has been active in his school chorus, where he was recently awarded "Best Singer" at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
He and his family took a trip to Los Angeles recently where José auditioned for America's Got Talent, so you may just see him in an upcoming episode soon!
José enjoys singing many musical styles and is working on developing his acting skills for future roles as he continues to hone his craft as a performer. Listen & watch José singing "Talking to the Moon".
Jasmine Jaramillo is an aspiring singer and actress. With her stage experience, she has played many roles in plays and musicals, from LEAVING HOME to the 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE.
With extensive studies with Shannon Kauble, Jasmine continues to work on many musical styles and develop her singing technique to accompany her acting.
She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies at California State University Fullerton to expand her toolkit as a stage performer further.
Viggo Leoncio, age 12, is a budding musical theater and jazz performer. He loves singing jazz standards, and is a prize winner in the NATS Student Evaluation Program Competition and VO-CAL auditions.
He has performed in numerous musicals, and highlights include Lumiere in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Bruce Bogtrotter in MATILDA, Michael in ELF, Downey in HONK, Tweedledee in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, and Young Simba in THE LION KING.
After studying voice for 5 years with Ms. Shannon Kauble, Viggo has completed 4 levels of MTAC’s Certificate of Merit Program in voice. Additionally, he has studied piano for 7 years with Mr. Jake Asaro.
This fall, Viggo is excited to join the Musical Theater Program at Orange County School of the Arts.
Milan Borges, is a current junior at Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida and a voice student of Lori Moran. Performance has been a part of Milan's life from the age of 4, when she took her first ballet class and fell in love with telling stories through music.
She has now turned to the art of musical theatre to tell those stories and has been in numerous productions - INTO THE WOODS as The Witch (Lake Nona High School), SOMETHING ROTTEN as Bea (Lake Nona High School), and most recently, BIG FISH as The Witch (Lake Nona High School), for which she was recognized with an Outstanding Lead Award from the 2023 Applause Awards.
Milan is excited to be headed to FSU this summer for their 3-week musical theater intensive program.
Audrey Chang, voice student of Lori Moran, is a sophomore in high school and loves anything that includes the performing arts! She is a member of The Four Counts and has been involved in shows such as CATCH ME IF YOU CAN as Agent Cod/Ensemble, and FROZEN as Ensemble/Elsa’s Understudy, all of which she performed at the Dr. Phillips Center.
Audrey recently starred as the lead of Amélie at Windermere High School, for which she garnered two Applause Awards - Outstanding Singer & Honorable Mention - Outstanding Lead.
Audrey's objective is to learn as much as possible about the entertainment industry and to enjoy the process of being a performer!
Elora Dannan, voice student of Dr. Barbara Dyer, is a Junior at Loyola Marymount University, where she carries a double major in Music and Chemistry. She is a theatre kid at heart, but enjoys performing classical arias as well as musical theatre songs. As a Vocal emphasis student she is an avid member of the Consort Singers, the top choir at LMU.
On Saturday, November 19, 2022, she was one of ten singers chosen to sing for the NATS-Los Angeles Fall Symposium at Santa Monica College with Daniel Lincoln, Assistant Professor at USC’s Thornton School of Music. She sang “I’m a Stranger Here Myself” from One Touch of Venus by Kurt Weill.
Elora plans to either go on as a professional singer or go to medical school.
